AI assistant
Ask your firm's operations anything
Connect Claude to AvenorOps and ask about your suppliers, contracts, renewals, policies and assets in plain English. It works from your firm's real data, it sees only what you can already see, and it's switched off until a firm admin turns it on.
What you can ask
- "What renews in the next 60 days, and which of those renew automatically?"
- "What's overdue right now?"
- "How much do we spend a year on IT suppliers?"
- "Show me everything Sarah owns. She leaves at the end of the month."
- "When did we last review Southerly IT, and what came up?"
- "Who's our contact at the photocopier company?"
- "What documents do we have on file for the cleaning contract?"
Answers come from your live AvenorOps records, not a copy or a summary made last week. If a name matches more than one record, it shows you the options instead of guessing.
Letting it help, not just answer
If your firm chooses, the assistant can also draft small updates:
- "Add a note to the Datacom contract: renewal call booked for the 14th."
- "Snooze the kiosk review. We're waiting on the supplier."
- "Mark the fire-safety policy review done. Reviewed today, no changes."
- "Record the cleaning contract as renewed at $6,200 through next June."
Nothing changes straight away. Each draft waits in a To review list, where a firm admin approves or rejects it. Approved changes go through exactly the same steps as if someone had clicked the button in AvenorOps, and each one is attributed and logged.
It can't delete anything, create new suppliers or contracts, or change anything you haven't allowed.
You stay in control
- Off by default. Nobody in your firm can connect an assistant until a firm admin turns it on in Settings.
- You choose what it may do. Answering questions is one switch. Drafting changes is a separate switch, and you choose which kinds of change it may draft. If you trust a particular kind of change, you can let it apply immediately. That's your call, one kind at a time.
- One switch stops everything. Turn it off and every connected assistant in your firm stops working on the spot. There's no waiting period and no keys to revoke.
- It acts as the person using it. Each person connects with their own AvenorOps sign-in, and the assistant sees exactly what that person can see. Nothing from any other firm is ever visible, and deactivating someone's AvenorOps account cuts off their assistant too.
- Everything is on record. Every change it drafts is saved for review, and its questions are logged, so an admin can see what it's been doing.
Where your data goes
When you ask a question, AvenorOps sends the relevant records to the assistant you connected, and that provider then handles them under its own terms. AvenorOps doesn't send your data to any AI provider on its own. It only happens when someone in your firm connects an assistant and asks it something.
The assistant can see the names and details of documents on a record, but never the files themselves.
More on how we handle data: see Security.
How to connect
- A firm admin turns on AI assistant access in Settings.

Questions
Does the AI provider train on our data?
That depends on the provider and your plan with them, not on AvenorOps. Check your AI provider's data terms before connecting, the same as you would for any other tool your firm uses.
Can it see other firms' data?
No. It connects as a signed-in member of your firm, and AvenorOps' database refuses to return another firm's records regardless of who's asking.
What if someone leaves?
Deactivate them in AvenorOps and their assistant loses access at the same moment, whatever device it's on.
